PurePM is managing a new $286M Drug Safety Testing Facility for MilliporeSigma, a subsidiary of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. The facility reflects the growing demand for biosafety testing in pharmaceutical production and development. As the owner’s representative, PurePM is managing all aspects of the project, from preparing budgets and schedules, supervising scope and design, overseeing construction, handling owner FF&E selection, and organizing move-in activities. PurePM will work closely with the management team on campus to maintain existing operations as the construction work is ongoing.
Once complete, the 250,000 SF facility will perform biosafety contract testing for traditional and novel therapies. The facility will also house analytical development, viral clearance sites, and cell bank manufacturing services. The construction and operations of the facility will create more than 500 jobs in Rockville, MD.
