As the project manager and owner’s representative, PurePM is supporting Summit Health in delivering excellent patient-centered and coordinated care at their new Cancer Center and Ambulatory Care Hub in Clifton, New Jersey. With over 100,000 SF of multi-specialty clinics, the existing office building required all new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to change to medical use, as well as a new addition to accommodate the linear accelerators and a loading dock. Patient care is enhanced by providing new clinical areas including Radiation and Medical Oncology, Infusion space, Diagnostic and Women’s clinics, Imaging, an Urgent Care Center, Primary Care, a Phlebotomy Laboratory, Musculoskeletal clinic, General Surgery, Urology clinic, Breast Care, Dermatology clinic, and a Plastics clinic.
In addition to a full MEP rework, the existing site and building required modifications to the entrances, replacement of the façade, and the addition of parking spaces. PurePM coordinated an early demolition of the interior so that the design could incorporate a laser scan of the existing conditions, prior to the fit-out construction commencing.
PurePM’s management of the design and construction process, as well as the development of the project budget and schedule, ensured that the Cancer Center and Ambulatory Care Hub reached Summit Health’s goals. While many of the existing conditions posed unforeseen challenges during the design and construction, PurePM was intimately involved every step of the way, and strategically managed the entire project team to minimize impacts to the budget and schedule.
