Starting in the early design phase, PurePM led the Alexandria Hospital replacement project as the project manager and owner’s representative for Inova Health System. The project will occupy a portion of the former Landmark Mall in Alexandria, Virginia. Foulger-Pratt, a private developer, is demolishing the mall and Inova will be developing a new state-of-the art 600,000 SF facility with 231 inpatient beds, a new emergency department, mother-baby suite, imaging and surgical platform.
The campus will also be home to Inova’s 110,000 SF Cancer Center and 95,000 SF Specialty Care Center, a medical office building. The new buildings will be supported by a 300+- space below-grade parking garage, constructed to connect all three facilities, as well as a 650-space above-grade garage. The project will reduce carbon emissions by 50%, with infrastructure in place to achieve 80%-100% carbon-reduction by 2045. In addition, the project is seeking LEED Silver Certification. The design phase is expected to be completed by the end of 2024 with occupancy in 2028.
