PurePM is providing full-service owners representation and project management services for Maimonides Health in Brooklyn, NY. Maimonides Health’s flagship hospital, with 711 Beds, required a major renovation to accommodate significantly more volume in the Emergency Department, Imaging, and Cardiac Cath. Funded by the federal agency, HUD, this multi-year and multi-phased project consists of nine renovation projects across five individual buildings, making up a total of approximately 111,500 SF of renovations. Program elements include 49 new patient positions in the ED, dedicated ED Pediatric space, a fully renovated and expanded NICU, PACU expansion, Behavioral Health dedicated space, and expansion to the Cardiac Catheterization labs with the latest technologically advanced systems.
PurePM brought strong financial management and oversight, as well as overall project organization to keep the leadership team properly informed. PurePM managed coordination with the DOH, DOB, HUD, and a third-party agent on behalf of HUD, as well as the financial aspects of the project, which undergo a rigorous federal review process. In addition, the existing emergency facility has limited swing space and numerous unknown conditions due to the age of the buildings. PurePM has worked to minimize operational impacts and shutdowns while accommodating construction activities. PurePM’s involvement marked a shift in the project team culture – through enforced on-site meetings and the collaborative environment created, the project has seen improved information flow, decision-making, and team reliability.
