Interior Renovations, Masonic Home of Florida
The Masonic Home of Florida project is a complete demolition and renovation of two floors spanning over 94 assisted living bedrooms as well as communal spaces.
The Hill at Whitemarsh, as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) on its expansive 96 acres, is designed to offer a full spectrum of living options and high-end amenities to support residents throughout the different stages of retirement.
The Hill at Whitemarsh provides Independent Living (IL), Assisted Living (AL), Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) / Health Center. They also offer independent living resident spaces, including Apartments, Cottages, Villas, and amenities, including a fully equipped Fitness & Aquatic Center.
To create the least amount of impact on The Hill’s residents, this project will be completed in four separate phases to realize the final buildout. Pure PM is leading the effort from an AHJ standpoint, including working through the Land Development Approval process and coordinating with the Department of Health and the Board of Health throughout each phase of the project. PurePM is also handling all FF&E components per phase through owner occupancy. At approximately 60,000 SF of renovated administrative and resident rooms, residents will enjoy finishes and infrastructure upgrades, a new Sonifi Smart TV system, a new nurse call and wander guard system, new lighting controls and enhancements, new doors, updated casework layouts, and new bathrooms within each room.
The project also consists of dedicated spaces for short-term rehabilitation patients, including the renovation of nineteen beds with suites for PT and OT, and spaces for dining and living room activities and medical staff areas. Long-term care residents are accommodated through the renovation of thirty-three rooms and the construction of six new rooms that meet current regulations.
A new Wellness Center for outside residents will also include three exam rooms and a combined family gathering area and conference space. Additionally, the project will add fourteen new memory care beds with supporting accessory spaces, including a spa, living and dining areas, activities spaces, nursing and medication rooms, and a family lounge. A horticultural courtyard will provide therapeutic gardening and other engaging activities for the residents. The Memory Care facility will be located in a secure portion of the building. The project team worked alongside memory care specialists throughout the design of the project to provide the best experience and highest level of care for the residents.
The new building expansion and renovation project is one of many collaborations between The Hill at Whitemarsh and PurePM. Other projects include a new Clubhouse renovation, a new Welcome Center, upgrades to existing parking garages on campus, a campus electrical power and coordination study, and resident room renovations within various units of the Oakley Hall Building on campus.
