Security Center, The Hill at Whitemarsh

The Hill at Whitemarsh engaged PurePM as the owner’s representative and project manager for the creation of their new Security Welcome Center on Lafayette Hill, PA campus. The new Welcome Center includes two security staff touch-down locations where staff can welcome residents and guests to the community and can safely secure the premises. The installation of multiple security screens, computers, and phones allows for proper communication between all buildings throughout The Hills’ campus. The Welcome Center also includes a fully ADA accessible restroom, building heating and cooling, storage areas, and a dedicated generator. The design also includes a canopy on the exterior facade to help protect staff during inclement weather. The new lit, automatic security entry and exit gates use AWID readers to improve residents’ ease in access upon approach.

PurePM team led the team through all AHJ’s including the full land development approval process, erosion and sedimentary control measures (E&S permitting) and the Shade Tree Commission for necessary permit approvals. PurePM also helped to coordinate work activity with the various utility suppliers to provide the proper utilities to the building. As the new building was located a distance away from the main campus, dedicated utility conduits were installed underground, spanning from the main building to the new Welcome Center. PurePM also coordinated all FF&E as part of the project, developed communication protocol on the various roadway impacts to the Hill’s residents, and helped to manage landscaping through the completion of the project.
